LUKI is a lovely game for children, developed for the Swiss Luzerner Kantonalbank. It includes games, the ability to listen to audio-books, watch some videos or get the latest impressions from events within a gallery, which is managed outside the application via WebView, so it can be updated by the client. To reduce the download size from the stores, the files from the media library can be downloaded optionally later on.
A special feature for this app: Several kids are able to create a personal account and collect coins for themselves in three different games with several difficulties for all age groups. If a predefined overall coin amount is reached, the coins can be exchanged for a gift in one of the bank branches. In the backend, the coin amount can be reset, so the hunt for more gifts can be restarted.
Creating the ability to have multiple players on one device / within one app was quite challenging. Because each account has to be separately controlled in terms of active account usage, score and price handling and creation / deleting or resetting the progress by a bank employee. This is handled by creating xml entries, which are used as base for the player management. Another challenge was the optional ability to download larger video / sound files from a server to decrease the download size of the application itself. More key features:
